For this Monday’s blog the lovely Marie Laval is going to interview Rosalie, the protagonist from her romcom, The Little Pink Taxi. Look at that gorgeous cover! I’m in love with that pink taxi.:)

First, Let’s find out a little more about the book.

Take a ride with Love Taxis, the cab company with a Heart …
Rosalie Heart is a well-known face in Irlwick – well, if you drive a bright pink taxi and your signature style is a pink anorak, you’re going to draw a bit of attention! But Rosalie’s company Love Taxis is more than just a gimmick – for many people in the remote Scottish village, it’s a lifeline.

Which is something that Marc Petersen will never understand. Marc’s ruthless approach to business doesn’t extend to pink taxi companies running at a loss. When he arrives in Irlwick to see to a new acquisition – Raventhorn, a rundown castle – it’s apparent he poses a threat to Rosalie’s entire existence; not just her business, but her childhood home too.

On the face of it Marc and Rosalie should loathe each other, but what they didn’t count on was somebody playing cupid …

Now I’ll pass you over to Marie who’s going to interview Rosalie.

It has been a cold, snowy week here in Lancashire, but I am sure it is even worse in the Cairngorms of Scotland where Rosalie Heart runs her small, and very pink, Love Taxis company.

I really don’t like driving when it snows, but I wonder what Rosalie thinks about being a taxi driver in winter…

Let’s meet her at her friend Alice’s vegetarian café in Irlwick where she is having a break from driving her pink taxi, and enjoying a cup of tea (with plenty of sugar in) and a chocolate brownie.

Hello Rosalie. I really hate driving in the snow. What about you?

I don’t really mind. We’re used to it around here, and in fact, it’s when the weather is bad that my customers need me the most. Since the bus services were cut down, people need my taxis even more to get to their doctor’s appointment, to the shops or again the Little Angels toddler group at the community centre. It’s exactly what I was telling that cold fish, Marc Petersen. He means to close Love Taxis down because it doesn’t make a profit, but life isn’t all about profits and balance sheets. It’s helping out friends, family, and your community that matters.

So did you convince him to keep you Love Taxis running?

Not yet. I took him on my shift yesterday but I could tell he wasn’t impressed. It didn’t help that one of the toddlers took a fancy to his scarf and almost strangled him when he tried to pull it off him.

What is Marc Petersen doing right now?

Probably stock taking at Raventhorn, or working on his laptop and adding up figures. The man has no heart, no soul, I told you. He hates the music on my Happy Baby Radio. He hates chatting to people. He isn’t even interested in my beautiful Raventhorn, the castle where I grew up. All he wants is to sell the place up to make a profit, then go back to London, or Paris, or wherever it is he lives. I hope our resident house ghosts teach him a lesson or two. After all it’s their home he’s planning on selling!

So you won’t be sorry to see him leave?

(Rosalie’s cheeks become as pink as her anorak).

Of course not! I mean, I really wish he’d never come here. And yet…

(She hesitates, and drinks a sip of tea).

And yet he does have that little something I find incredibly attractive. Perhaps it’s the colour of his eyes – grey, like Loch Bran under a stormy sky – or the sadness on his face when he thinks I’m not looking…

(She sighs)

Well, it’s been nice talking to you, but I must dash off.

Bye Rosalie, and safe driving! It’s been nice talking to you.
